Emily Boer bring to Fitness Forward expertise in non-profit
management and administration. She helped develop the board
structure for the organization and will provide great guidance
as the organization matures. She will also bring strong leadership
to the ambitious fundraising targets for Fitness Forward in
the coming years.
Emily has a BA from Williams College
in Psychology and Art History. After graduation she worked
at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts before moving
onto Community Legal Services And Counseling Center in Cambridge,
MA where she was responsible for many aspects of the organization’s
fundraising, public relations and administration.
She is currently receiving her
Master of Public Administration from the top-ranked Maxwell
School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
She was selected as this year’s Vernon Snow Fellow,
a prestigious fellowship given annually to one student who
displays a strong commitment to the non-profit sector. Emily
is also currently interning at the Central New York Community
Foundation. This experience has greatly broadened her scope
of the non-profit sector, as she has now been exposed to both
the grant requesting and grant making sides of the funding
Emily enjoys practicing Ashtanga
yoga, downhill skiing, hiking and mountain biking. She believes
that fitness can easily and happily be incorporated into one’s
daily life. She was a coxswain for the Williams College Men’s
Crew and enjoys returning each fall to compete in the Head
of the Charles with an alumni boat.
